smart-sane's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spy Capers and The World of Tomorrow Watching: The Apprentice 3. No cute guys. Raj impersonator. Terminate show. So, I know you were so dying to read up on me yesterday, almost as much as I was dying to give you all the juicy details about my new life. But thanks to Diaryland I could not update and you, dear reader, could not read. And now that you can, life isn’t so juicy anymore. What my life is recently, is busy! This new schedule has got me a little ragged around the edges, and it’s only the first week. I know that I’ll get used to it, its really just like the hazing before the introduction to the secret society of busy people who do this all the time, but I just hope the hazing doesn’t kill a girl! That would suck. Life this week went work til 2, service or doctors appointments, or job interviews, the long drive home, thinking about sleeping but knitting or studying, sleeping or meeting (or sleeping at the meeting!) home, passed out in bed. Rinse, repeat. But like I said, I’m sure I’ll get used to it. I’ve been in training all week at work so I’m all trained up. To do what? That would be the million dollar question. I still don’t know what I do. And I can’t even talk about it with you because I’m so not in the know, I don’t know what is a breach of the confidentiality agreement and what I can share. But when I know, I’ll let you know. All I do know is there is a foodie party tonight at 4pm, and although it would be a stretch for me to make it, you best believe I’m gonna try. And I paid $5 to wear jeans to work today. The money goes to the tsunami relief fund, but it all seems like such a scam. I was going to change in the car on the way to work and save myself the five bucks, but it was nine degrees this morning, and I wasn’t taking my pants off for nothing! Anyway, like most weeks, one of the highlights of the week was the Wednesday 9pm-10pm time slot of Alias. You know well that I am an Alias loyalist, a faithful, a fan til the end, jumping the sharks and through the river to grandma’s and all that. But I have an honest question. What the heck is going on? First there is no “previously on Alias” that recaps the entire show from before. I thought that was a bonus but it turns out that its because now the stories have nothing to do with each other! There is no main bad guy; it just seems every week is the Spy Capers of that Kooky Sydney Girl and the Appleseed Gang. I do like how they are trying to get more to the human-Sydney, living with her sister and all that. Right now the only season story arc I see is Nadia probably trying to kill SpyDaddy when she realizes a)he killer her mother and b)he lied about it. Oh, and that Vaughn doesn’t shave. But what about Sloane and his evilness? Remember at the end of Season 3? He and Nadia went and found Rambaldi’s master plan. Where is it? And what about what was on those papers? Syd’s name was on it, and there was more than one sheet; all that black paper couldn’t have been about him killing his wife, unless it was a blow-by-blow account. Pun intended. And SpyDaddy, is he really the most evil of them all? If Victor Garber ever wants to win that Emmy he better start acting over the top (that’s how William Shatner got it for Boston Legal!) I know I’m way too invested in this show, but at least I’m invested in it enough to want it to be good and just to make a teeny bit of sense. I mean if it is just going to be a spy-caper show, it might as well be a cartoon. But I’m not complaining too much; Action!Vaughn! as a flirty drunk priest, using his masculine wiles to seduce the ladies? Love it.
